Rappahannock’s Republican senator and delegate in the 1980 General Assembly will work together on some drunk-driving legislation in Richmond in response to complaints from their constituents.

“We want to increase the fine for driving while drunk from $200 to $300, with $100 to stay in the community so the community will be a little more apt to take an interest,” said George P. Beard Jr. of Culpeper, a member of the House of Delegates since 1978.
