On January 5 the Sperryville Rescue Squad transported Mrs. Margaret Campbell from her home in Sperryville to the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville and on January 3 responded to an auto accident on Rt. 522, however, services were not rendered.

Visit Hospital
During the week before Christmas over 350 children from several area schools took guided tours of Culpeper Memorial Hospital. They came to see the decorations and to learn more about the hospital. Among the visitors were preschool and first graders from Wakefield Country Day School at Huntly.
The students saw the door decorations, the emergency room, the radiology lab. the physical therapy room and the nursery. They saw how blood pressure is taken and how X-rays are made. There was even a life-size Santa dummy in a walker in the physical therapy room who apparently had a broken foot.
Culpeper Memorial Hospital began the tour program in honor of the International Year of the Child. Response from the schools was enthusiastic. One school official commented that it is important for children to function in a community and to feel accepted by adults.
