To the editor:
I would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Washington Volunteer Fire Company for their services in conducting an annual fire inspection of our school and day care center. Since an annual inspection is required by the Virginia Department of Welfare, and there is no paid county fire marshal, these W.V.F.D. members must volunteer their time and services in order for our day care license to be renewed each year.
Many other businesses and private individuals depend on the Fire Company’s service as much as we do. May I' suggest that we all show our support with a generous contribution or by offering some of our own time? Only a handful of dedicated people do the great number of tasks needed to operate a fire company efficiently. Your time and monetary contributions are greatly needed.
