Circle Calling
According to Jones, Centel will offer Circle Calling as of April 15. Under this option, customers pay a fee of $1.75 and get a 30 per cent discount on toll charges to exchanges within a 20 mile radius. Exchanges in Washington's circle call area include Culpeper, Warrenton, Front Royal, Remington, The Plains, Marshall, Luray, Elkton, Stanley and Panorama.
Jones noted that phone companies will have ^o -implement a new building program in order to offer TelPlan and Circle Calling but added that extra costs involved should not have any effect on the base rate charged to all phone customers. Jones described the two options—Circle Calling and TelPlan—as the first steps toward the goal of providing “telephone service tailored to individual demands.
C&P Also Eligible
Customers of the C&P Telephone Company will also be offered TelPlan and Circle Calling options if their exchange qualifies, based on company point-to-point studies. According to Jones,
