MORTON’S NEUROMA

A very common complaint seen by many doctors is a burning, cramping sensation that occurs in the foot usually when the patient is wearing shoes. The patient may complain of a cramping in the toes (usually the third and fourth), a tingling in the toes, or a severe pain in the bottom of the foot itself, where the two toes join the foot. Removing the shoes and rubbing seems to be helpful. An enlarged nerve that lies between two bones is usually the culprit. It gets pinched and can cause the symptoms There are various treatments that can be tried such as medication in the area, rebalancing the foot, or physical therapy. If these do not work the enlarged nerve must be removed.
