Compton

Graveside services for Mrs. May Virginia Compton, 92, of Culpeper were conducted Thursday at Fairview Cemetery by the Rev. John S. Farrar.

Mrs. Compton died Tuesday, May 19, 1981, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Frank Compton and a member of Culpeper Baptist Church. A native of Rappahannock, she was the daughter of the late Amon and Jenny Carder Deal.

Survivors include a niece Mrs. Virginia Baker of Luray and a nephew Elmer Singers of Lake of the Woods.

Clore Funeral Home in Cujpeper was in charge of arrangements.

Smith

Funeral services for Paul Jackson Smith, 79, of Amissville were conducted Friday at Clore Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper by the Rev. A. C. Walker. Burial was in Amissville Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Wednesday, May 20, 1981, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Forest Grove Baptist Church. His parents were the late James Edward and Annie Smith.

He is survived by one son, Everett Smith of Amissville, Five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four foster sisters and three foster brothers.
