If we read the vital signs correctly, the long delayed building program to relieve overcrowding at Rappahannock High School is again in critical condition. Only massive transmissions of public support will save it.

Although not a single individual spoke out against excessive school expenditures at the supervisors public hearing on the 1981-82 school budget, the supervisors still felt compelled to perform $89,100 worth of surgery. And during the operation, not a single member of the school board protested.

At the same time, however, only one person took the time to attend the session and voice support of an adequate budget that provides quality education for Rappahannock’s children. Where were all the other parents and friends of public education who profess to care?
