School board members keep talking about the mood of the county as justification to cut back on something that never really got started. What mood of the county? We don’t recall anyone besides the members of the two boards speaking out against school expenditures during the past year.
Obviously, the opponents of school spending are doing their work behind the scenes. Friends of education are not going to be successful if they try the same tactic. Supporters of the capital outlay program at RCHS must go public. They must attend meetings and emphasize their commitment to providing quality education.
