Perhaps you may be a little confused with all the names and titles given to people who sell real estate. Here’s a breakdown on the differences.
A broker is a person who is licensed to deal in real estate for pay. He is sometimes called a read estate salesman or agent. Salesmen must also be licensed. The broker is usually the person who owns the business whereas the salesman or sales associate works for him. The term agent is a catchall phrase that is used for brokers and salesmen and also for REALTORS®. Anyone who represents you in financial matters is your “agent".
