“It’s for the birds!” was the reaction from Delegate Beard, Rappahannock’s representative prior to last year’s redistricting plan, a proposal that was overturned by the federal courts in August. “It’s just so unrealistic. I don’t see how they can consider it feasible.”

The plan approved by the subcommittee on November 16 puts Rappahannock in the 17th District with Shenandoah and Warren counties. Currently, the county is joined with Garke, Page and Warren as the 18th District.
