(Continued from Page 1) reported that supporting documentation for the five unemployment claims was on file in county offices but that copies had not yet been received at the school board office. If the board members feel that the claims are unwarranted, Eastham added, the deadline for filing appeals in the cases is November 19. Acknowledging that the school board's lack of information on the unemployment claims shows a breakdown in paper work and communications, the board members agreed to ask the supervisors for immediate notice of any future claims from ex-school employees that come in while reimbursement is still being paid from the general fund.
In addition, the board gave unanimous authorization to chairman Beverly Massie to file an appeal before the November 19 deadline if she feels the action is called for after reviewing background information.
Late Bui Departure
The new gas access policy adopted last month has created concern among school bus drivers and sparked what board member Nelson Lane described as a "Khoemeni surprise party with no warning.”
