Tapes Were Beginning
Inspired one evening, Ned recorded a two-hour tape of his recollections of Rappahannock’s history and legends. Friends who heard the tape urged the Johnsons to write a book and that suggestion plus the scarcity of information about the county's past supplied the impetus for their three-year labor of love. “We decided to try tying some of the facts to our corny little stories,” Ned explained.
