Rappahannock third place were Mike Tomko (19:09), Ronnie Atkins (19:26), Earl Jewell (19:36) and Ricky Shaw (19:58). Both Atkins and Shaw are freshmen.
John Brumback of Stonewall Jackson was first across the finish line in 16:50.6. Stonewall’s Generals had three of the top five finishers with Timmy Holler coming in third at 17:06 and David Rosen fifth at 17:48 to take the Group A team championship with 53 points. Parry McGuer High School was second wtih 62 points and Rappahannock third with 106.
Fifteen schools and 93 runners competed in the Group A finals.
