Michelle Willis, granddaughter of MrS. Arthur Miller of Washington, was elected vice president for student services at the University of Virginia last month.
The vice president for student services is the individual ultimately responsible for directing, supervising and coordinating the Student Council's 20 some committees and services. An editorial endorsement of her candidacy printed in The University Journal cited Michelle’s credentials for the position: two years of work with the Council; a year as Council's Communications Chairman overseeing sub-committees of newsletter, liaisons, Contact Program, admissions, volunteers, publicity and media coordinator; a year’s editorship of the Council’s newsletter and a year as a College representative to the Council for which Michelle came in as high vote-getter when re-elected to the representative slot this past fall.
The University Journal's editorial described Willis as "a proven 'workhorse' " and expressed confidence that her experience and motivation will bring many of the current year’s unproductive committees to life next year and provide UVa students
