Estabrook. a line item that drops from the current $41,695 to $40,000 in his proposed budget. "But we have to be looking to many different ways of teaching young people...not all include additional supplies." he said, adding that he is asking teachers to be aware of the tight money situation.
The budget also shows a substantial decrease in the line item for rental of land and buildings, a drop from $3,900 to $650. As noted in last week’s meeting. Estabrook said the proposed allocation for 1982-83 reflects only two months rent of the bus shop and school board office since it is anticipated that the combination bus garage and central office building suggested by Nelson Lane will be completed in September. (Funds for construction of the building are expected to come from the current budget and from the sale through condemnation suit of the bus garage to the highway department.)
