Control Board suggested that the project return to the study stage for reevaluation.
- On January 14, 1981, EPA approved the restudy and the Engineer was given Notice to Proceed with the restudy.
The project area includes Sperryville village, the populated corridor of U. S. Route 211 between the village and the Shenandoah National Park to the west, and the residential area adjacent to the Southern States Cooperative to the east.
The recommended alternative is the septic tank effluent pump (STEP) system consisting of small diameter pressure lines with treatment provided by a package plant of 61,000 gallons per day design capacity.
- Total project cost is $1,807,800 of which the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency will ' provide a grant for $1,357,460. The remaining amount $450,340 would have to be financed locally.
- If the local share is borrowed from a lending institution, total debt service would be $61,285 annually at current FmHA rates of 12.25 percent for 40 years and a required coverage figure of 10 percent.
