NOTE: The Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU) basis is one of the most common methods of establishing a rate schedule. Each unit of housing is one EDU and commercial or industrial establishments are assigned a number of EDU’s in proportion to the estimated or measured wastes compared to the wastes generated from a single family unit; e.g., a business producing three times the wastes of a single family unit would be assigned three EDU’s.
