Mrs. Myrtle Mae Chastain. 98, of Chester Gap. died Tuesday. September 7, 1982. at her residence.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday at the Willis Chapel Cemetery by the Rev. Merlin Shorb.
Mrs. Chastain was born in Barry County. Mo., on January 27, 1884. a daughter of the late Isaac Romine and Rose Rhodes Crane. She was a retired minister and author.
She is survived by three sons. Leroy A. Cheney of Mill Valley. Calif.. Howard P. Cheney of Strasburg and Edward G. Chastain of Hemet. Calif.; three daughters, Bessie M. Parks and Shirley M. Shelton, both of Chester Gap and Grace R. Moore of Front Royal; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 11 greatgreat-grandchildren.
