Scouts Plan
Fund Raiser
Rappahannock's Senior and Cadet Girl Scout troops will be participating in an older girl camperee to be held in October at Camp May Flather. To help raise money for this and other events, the troops have scheduled a flea market and bake sale on Saturday. September 25. at the Second National Bank in Culpeper's Southgate Shopping Center. Scouts are looking for donations of both flea market items and baked goods. Contributions can be given to any Senior or Cadet Scout. Pick-up can also be arranged by calling leaders Pat Helmer (987-8184) or Carolyn Manwaring (987-8433).
This past weekend, the Senior and Cadet troops participated in an outdoor survival interest project at Camp Massawomee where the girls learned survival skills and then tested those skills in an all-night survival simulation.
This Sunday. Scouts from the two troops will join (jirl Scouts from surrounding counties at the Hayloft Dinner Theater in Manassas to see “Hello Dolly."
“We're planning an active year m scouting and we hope that county residents will support our fund raising efforts," said leader Carolyn Manwaring.
