TIPS FOR JOGGERS
AND THEIR FEET
If you are starting a jogging program there are some basic rules to follow. One, if over 30-35 a physical exam with an EKG is a good idea. Secondly, start out very gradually. Walk, for a distance then jog for a distance, making sure you walk or “cool down” before stopping.
After these rules are followed then turn to thinking about your shoe wear. The running shoes of today are expensive but mostly they are worth the expense. Some have extremely excellent shock absorbtion qualities which will save much wear and tear on your feet and legs. Also they probably will last longer and be of more value in that sense. There are some shoes specifically designed for people with specific foot problems. Remember - Your feet must last a lifetime.
