The Virginia Trappers Association in a cooperative project with the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries will conduct a series of trapper education clinics throughout the Commonwealth beginning this fall.
The six-hour long course is designed to teach and promote trapper ethics, adherance to alws pertaining to trapping, conservation, basic humane trapping methods and the proper handling of furs. Both a Game Commission warden and a wildlife biologist will be present at each of the sessions. I'he course will be free of charge to participants.
Tests will be administered at the completion of the course and successful students will be awarded a Trapper's certificate and a trapper's education patch. The students will also be allowed to keep the Trapper's Manual used in the course.
