Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR

The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet on Tuesday, September 9 at 1:30 p.m. in the Culpeper United Methodist Church, Mrs. Y. R. Gutowski presiding.

Judge Harris Grimsley, a native of Culpeper, will be the guest speaker. His topic, “The Events that led up to the Constitution.” Mrs. Philip Cox and Commander Josephine Chelf will be the hostesses.

Extension Homemakers to meet

The Amissville Extension Homemakers will meet on Monday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Amissville Baptist Church. The Washington Extension Homemakers will meet on Wednesday, September 10 at 9:30 a.m. in the basement of the Clerk’s Office.

Lions to meet

The Rappahannock Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m. at the Cornerpost Restaurant in Flint Hill. All members are urged to attend.

Heart Association board meeting

The American Heart Association board meeting will be held on Monday, September 8 at the Washington Baptist Church at 7:30 p.m.

Front Royal Oratorio Rehearsals

Rehearsals for the Front Royal Oratorio Society’s December 14 concert will start on September 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Front Royal United Methodist Church. Music Director, Ronald Johnston announced that the Society will perform a Christmas cantata, “Sleepers Wake,” by J.S. Bach, and “Son of Man,” compiled by Howard D. McKinney. The Society has openings in all sections and invites interested musicians to come and meet with the Director at 7 p.m. September 8, September 15 or September 22.

Community celebration

You are invited to a community celebration honoring Mary M. Quaintanee on Saturday, September 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. Desserts and beverages will be served. Aerobic dance class

An eight week series of aerobic dance classes will begin September 9 through October 31, afternoon classes will be at the Flint Hill fire hall Wednesdays and Fridays at 4 p.m. Evening classes will be at Rappahannock County Elementary School Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. Class fee is $35 for twice a week, $45 for unlimited attendance.
