A Rappahannock fox hound

took first place in High General Average Derby Hounds at the field trials of the Northern Virginia Fox Hunters Association held August 25-27. The trials were held at The Hill and Longlea, Culpeper County. The hound was Intervale Mongo, bred and owned by W. H. Lyne of Washington. In winning HGA, Mongo placed fifth in hunting, second in speed and drive, and second in endurance. All Derby hounds are under two years and Mongo is 13 months old.

The Amissville Methodist Youth Fellowship is sponsoring a Clothing Drive for Church World Service. Anyone who wishes to donate usable clothing for the drive is requested to leave it at Hackley’s Store, Amissville or contact Connie Holmes, president of the MYF.
