Riley C. Sample

Riley Cubbison Sample, 88, of Culpeper, died Saturday, August 30 at his residence following a short illness. Mr. Sample was a native of Pennsylvania and had lived in Culpeper for many years. He was a retired farmer and a member of Cedar Run Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Jenkins Sample of Culpeper; a stepdaughter, Barbara Payne of Washington; five step-sons, Nelson Jenkins, Jr. of Washington, Donald Jenkins of Amissville, Robert Jenkins of Sperryville, Branson Jenkins of Culpeper and Ricky Pullen of Washington; and 17 step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at Bible Baptist Church, Culpeper on Wednesday, September 3, with the Rev. Edward Hawkins and the Rev. Floyd T. Binns officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ricky Pullen, Branson Jenkins, Albert Payne, Charles Saunders, Tommy Ross, Nelson Jenkins, Jr., Donald Jenkins and Robert Jenkins.

Clore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
