The investigation is being conducted by Trooper R. A. Baines and Game Warden Jim Bankston. According to Sgt. Gregory, no charges have been placed, pending the completion of the investigation.
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department’s Advanced Life Support Unit also responded to the shooting scene.
Castleton man wounded
In a separate incident which occurred Dec. 20, Allan Ray Davis, 18, Rt. 618, Castleton, was seriously wounded when he was struck in the face by a round from a .41 magnum revolver.
Sheriff John Henry Woodward said that the apparently accidental shooting happened as Mr. Davis and a friend were handling several pistols at a residence off Rt. 619 at Castleton.
