Marvin Williams
Marvin Washington Williams, 77, of Front Royal, died Dec. 24 in Annaburg Manor Nursing Home, Manassas.
Mr. Williams was bom Jan. 14, 1909, in Huntly, the son of George Washington and Mary Mauck Williams.
Surviving are his wife Bertha C. Williams of Front Royal, five sons, Melvin Williams of Culpeper, Jackson Williams of Chicago, 111., Eugene Williams and Clarence Williams, both of Front Royal, and Marvin Williams, two daughters, Eleanor Devers of Front Royal and Margaret Dawson of Winchester, a brother Roy Williams of Pennsylvania, a sister Mabel Wood of Front Royal, 22 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted Dec. 26 in the Willis Chapel Cemetery, Huntly, by the Rev. Irving Johnson.
Alson Jenkins
Alson Lee Jenkins, 58, of Etlan, died Dec. 24 at University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, following a long illness.
A native and lifetime resident of Madison County, Mr. Jenkins was employed by Martin Furniture Company in Culpeper. He was a member of Nethers Mill Lighthouse Tabernacle.
He is survived by his wife Mary Fincham Jenkins of Etlan, two daughters, Patsy Jean Jenkins of Sperryville and Brenda J. Figgins of Etlan, three brothers, Leslie Jenkins of Clearbrook, El wood Jenkins of Etlan and Kelso Jenkins of Madison, and one grandchild.
A funeral service was conducted Dec. 27 at the Nethers Mills Lighthouse Tabernacle by the Rev. Charles Clinedinst, Rev. Charles Lewis and Rev. Gary Johnson. Interment was at the Etlan Cemetery.
