In the weather department the New Year starts off fair and cold on the 1st and 2nd, which is a forerunner of the month’s below normal temperatures. Precipitation, however, is anticipated to be about average. Look for similar temps, fair and cold, the 6-8, 12-14, 22-24, and the 31st. You can expect snow and stormy conditions during the periods 3-5, 9-11, 15-16, 20-21, 25-26, 29-30, the latter two possibly freezing rain. The traditional “January thaw” could come on the 27th or 28th when milder temperatures are indicated.
