The Rappahannock-Rapidan Emergency Medical Services Council is planning an Emergency Medical Technician training program which will schedule its sessions during daytime hours.
Mike Florence, director of the EMS Council, said that the program is an effort to address the state-wide problem of insufficient daytime coverage by rescue squads. Mr. Florence explained that most squads have a manpower problem during the day, especially work days, and that the EMS Council hopes that the daytime program will attract vplunteers who have that time free.
After the training is completed and the certification tests are passed, those EMTs will be available to handle rescue calls
