Basketball camp has 8 openings
The Shot Doctor basketball camp, , which will be held at RCHS from July 2527, has eight spaces left. Interested campers may register before camp begins, at 8:15 ~ a.m.Monday at the new gym. Coach Gary ; Leake reminds those already registered that : the $54 balance will also be collected *•; before camp begins Monday. Campers should also bring a bag lunch.
Chester Gap carnival nears...
The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual firemen's !• carnival from July 27-30. Wednesday will ■ be Family Night, with all rides for $4. Thursday and Friday you can ride all night - t for $5, and also on Friday "Jerry Williams and Mistic Sounds" will'play two shows at the carnival grounds. On Saturday at 12:30 p.m. the department will hold its Third Annual Horseshoe Tournament. On Saturday evening the Carnival Queen will f be crowned.
... With Flint Hill carnival Aug. 3-6
Flint Hill's annual Firemen's Carnival will be held at the carnival grounds from Aug. 3-6. The parade, which each year features the newly crowned Miss Virginia, will welcome April Fleming of Richmond for the Thursday evening event. Leading the parade will be the 3rd Infantry Fife and Drum Corps, known as the Olde Guard. On Wednesday, the carnival will hold family night, with one $4 ticket buying all rides from opening until closing. On Saturday, prizes will be awarded, including a 1988 Plymouth and season tickets to the Redskins home games.
