continues
The Garfield Reading Club at the Rappahannock Library continues to attract a host of enthusiastic children with its program of several activities especially enjoyed by them, according to a Library spokesman.
On Wednesday, July 27, the films to be shown at 2 p.m., include Cate in the Hat, Great Toy Robbery, Miss Esta Maude’s Secret, and Kid ‘N’ Africa.
“Everyone had a marvelous time at the stuffed pet show. We are indebted to Jim and Nan Thomasson and Ruth Richards for the wonderful job they did in judging and awarding the ribbons. A heartfelt thanks you to each of them,” the spokesman added.
The Wednesday programs will continue through Aug. 3. There will be a special closing program at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 9. All children and parents are invited.
Don’t forget to enter the “Guess how many pieces of Cat Food are in the Jar” contest and bring in your 9x12 picture of Garfield, a reading program supervisor said.
Oliver named
to Dean’s List
William W. Oliver IV, of Woodville, was named to the Dean’s List at Virginia Polytechnic and State University at Blacksburg for the spring semester, the school’s office of public affairs announced.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must achieve at least a 3.4 grade-point average out of a possible 4.0.
A junior who is majoring in animal science, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Oliver III, also of Woodville.
