James Lynn, 56 of Rt. 1, Amissville, and Ernest Samuel Lynn, 60, of Box 421, Frostburg, Md., have been found guilty of aggravated sexual battery. The two brothers are imprisoned in the Rappahannock County Jail, awaiting sentencing by Judge Shore Robertson.
Both men were accused of sexually molesting an eight year old girl, the daughter of their younger brother’s wife. The attacks occurred while the two men were staying with their brother at his home in Amissville during December, 1987.
James Lynn was found guilty of the offense after a jury trial on June 13. According to the testimony of the young girl, Lynn attempted to rape her while the two were at the home alone on Dec. 7, 1987. The rest of the family had gone to a toy store to buy birthday presents for her twin sisters, she said.
