To the editor:

Are Missions dead? Is there a place for people like me in the late 1980s? Is it worthwhile sacrificing all for Jesus Christ in the atomic age?

One just wonders if anybody really cares. It gets mighty lonely out here sometimes.

In 1983 my wife and I (and three children) left a very comfortable warm home (Adelaide, South Australia) and secure job to ;mmigrate to a rather cold Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand with one dream and ambition, to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Nobody met us at the airport, because nobody knew we were coming.

Since then we have grown in our assembly by approximately 70 folks in Christchurch; eight or nine in
