Elizabeth Alsberry
Elizabeth Amanda Foster Alsberry, 76, of Front Royal, died July 14 at her home.
Mrs. Alsberry was bom Sept. 17, 1911, in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late James and Florence Washington Roy. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 208 of Front Royal. She was married to the late Roosevelt Foster Sr. and the late Rev. Robert T. Alsberry.
Surviving are one son, Roosevelt Foster Jr., Philadelphia, Pa.; three brothers, Walter Roy, Front Royal, Charles Roy, Alexandria and Benjamin Roy, Washington; one sister, Mary Ella Lewis, New York City; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held July 18 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Front Royal with the Rev. Carter Alsberry officiating. Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers were nephews.
Lile Pierce
Lile Virginia Pierce, 77, of Culpeper, died July 16 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
A native of Rappahannock County, Mrs. Pierce had lived in Culpeper for a number of years. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Culpeper.
She is survived by her husband, Kent N. Pierce, Culpeper; one sister, Mrs. Dollie M. Sisk, Culpeper;
