Tomatoes Continued from Page 8 2 cups buttermilk Salt and cayenne Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smooth. Season to taste with salt and cayenne. Chill the soup well before serving, at least 1 hour. Tomato Lime Soup 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 cup finely diced onion 1 garlic clove, minced 1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro 6 cups thin tomato puree 4 tablespoons lime juice 3/4 teaspoon hot sauce 1-1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 1 cup minced1 cooked shrimp Salt In a large soup pot, heat the vegetable oil, and saute the onion, garlice and cilantro until the onion is limp, 3-5 minutes. Add the tomato puree, lime juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce and cumin. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add the shrimp and season to taste with salt. Serve hot or chill and serve cold. Tomato Pie Makes 4 to 6 servings. Nettie Grant, Virginia Beach. 5 to 8 tomatoes 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt Pepper to taste 1 cup mayonnaise 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese Peel tomatoes and cut into 1/4inch slices; arrange slices in pie shell. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Blend together mayonnaise and cheese and spread over top of tomatoes. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes or until top is golden brown
