To the editor;
I have recently seen a place of beauty destroyed by bulldozers and chainsaws. I mourn the loss of this special place in Rappahannock, a country road to mountains and falls, a great canopy of trees with ferns and native woods, a place of beauty and natural power. This particular place is on Rt. 630 outside of Flint Hill, the road to Bear Wallow Hollow.
There are many such places in our county, and I wish to see them preserved rather than destroyed in the name of progress. Roads need repair and maintenance, but it may be more appropriate at times to post a lower speed limit rather than upset a delicate balance of natural beauty
