The Rappahannock County Health Department is once again offering • vaccinations to protect against the strains of flu expected to be virulent this winter. Persons particularly at risk from the flu are V ; the elderly, those with chronic heart or lung problems, children on long-term aspirin :f ; therapy, residents of group homes, those who work with the public (such as school teachers), and health care providers, including emergency medical personnel. - ^ There is a $5.50 fee for the vaccination, * which will be waived for individuals *“ covered by Medicaid. The county's Department of Social Services is collecting donations of food and cash to make Christmas baskets for the ; county’s needy residents. Anyone interested in contributing to the effort is f ' asked to contact the social services office (675-3313) so that an approximation of the y number of baskets can be determined. Donations may be sent to the Dept, of Social Services, P. O. Box 87, Washington, Va. 22747. The office asks that no clothfttg^lt or other household items be donated sinc^ ■ there is no place to store them.
