the late Frank Joseph Auger and Anne Pearl Desmond. She was a switchboard operator at Sibley Hospital and at Children’s Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she retired after 25 years of service.
Survivors include one sister, Marguerite A. Manning, Amissville; one brother, Paul F. Auger, London Ontario, Canada; four nephews; four nieces; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services were held Nov. 22 at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, Md., with the Father Philip Majka of St. John’s Catholic Church in Warrenton officiating.
John R. Noakes
John Richard Noakes of Boston died Thursday, Nov. 24 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
He was employed as a laborer with a construction company and a native of Rappahannock County.
Survivors include four daughters, Lillian R. Noakes of Reva, Diana Noakes of Louisa, Gladys M. Noakes and Barbara J. Thompson, both of Culpeper; three sons, Harry R. of McLean, James N. and William L. Noakes, both of Boston; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers? two sisters; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at Nazareth Baptist Church, Boston, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30. The Rev. H. Frye of Huntly officiated. Interment will be in the family section of the church cemetery.
W.C. Thompson Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
