The Amissville Ruritans’ “Ladies Night” Banquet on Nov. 16 was an exciting event. Past President Charlie Priest recognized the guests, including special guest Mrs. L.B. Stuart, donor of 8V2 acres to the Ruritans and ball teams; Mrs. EJva Compton; Mrs. Ann Fincham; Mrs. Mary O’ Bannon; Mr. Guy Thomas; Mrs. Frances Segrest; and Mrs. Mary Conlin. The group surprised Mrs. Edna Kidwell by singing happy birthday to her.
George Kidwell and 87-year-old Herman Terhune led in the singing of “America.” Nelson Burner issued the invocation.
Entertainment chairman Jim Ryan introduced the Blue Ridge Barbershoppers: Dave Meadows, Art Steiner, Ed Hagadome and Jesse Surles, along with Mrs. Steiner, Mrs. Hagadome and Mrs. Surles.
