Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bailey entertained on Thanksgiving Day with dinner for 12 family members and friends.
Mrs. Charlie Burke was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Metzger in Lorton the week of Thanksgiving. Mrs. Burke was a Tuesday luncheon guest of Mr. and Mrs. William Bennette in Alexandria. Mrs. Georgia Vaughn of Fredericksburg was also a guest in the Bennette home.
Mervin and Geraldine Chaffee spent the Thanksgiving holiday with their families in Vermont. While there her parents, Leonard and Ruth Vancelletta celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The Chaffees also experienced the earthquake which registered 6.0 on the scale.
Amos E. Clarke remains a patient at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. He is visited daily by family members. The community wishes him a speedy recovery.
The community was saddened to hear of the death of Mr. John Tennett, a resident of the town. Deepest sympathy is expressed to his wife Edith and their family at this time.
