“We’ve pretty much decided where the corridors for further study will be,” Mr. Hancock said. He said that proposed access will be marked on the map.
VDOT sees the question of access as important.
“That’s one of the issues we did discuss specifically,” Mr. Pethtel said. “In areas where there’s concern about development, one of the ways to mitigate it would be to limit access.”
Fauquier County has adamantly opposed the bypass, as have the boards of Loudoun and Rappahannock counties. Stafford County reversed its earlier support and opposed the bypass a few weeks ago.
