Many years ago when the Romans occupied Judea (presently Israel), King Antiochus was on the throne. Not only was he cruel to the Jews, but he also placed demands on them which they refused to obey. This resulted in the temple’s being robbed and vandalized and many Jews being killed.

Zealots took shelter in the hills of Judea, eventually defeating the Romans. The Jewish people were faced with the task of repairing the temple. To add to their problems, there was only oil enough for one night to keep the sacred eternal light
