“Tropical Madness” once again will permeate Old Town Warrenton’s Main Street and Courthouse Square, on Aug. 17 and 18, transforming this small Virginia town into an exotic Caribbean island full of music, fun and food.

For two days, the combined efforts of The Partnership for Warrenton, The Old Town Association and Bluemont Concert Series will produce this celebration of the warm weather season in Virginia.

To kick off the event on Friday, Aug. 17, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., “The Fabulous Cruisers” will perform on Courthouse Square with a blend of Motown, Reggae and beach music.

On Saturday, from noon until 10 p.m., music and special events will fill the day. From noon until 2:30, a sand castle building contest will take place next to the Post Office. Separate categories (ages under six, six to 12, 13-17, and 18 and older) will be judged.

From noon until 9 p.m., an ongoing contest for the best tropical outfit, including the best dressed merchant and best dressed customer, will be conducted.
