The Inn at Washington, America’s only five-star inn, will conduct a tour from 2 to 8 on Tuesday, Sept. 18, to benefit Trinity Episcopal Church. Tickets will cost $10 per person.
MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) just celebrated their 10th anniversary. Last week we were made to realize how important MADD’s work is when two children died in an accident on U.S. 211 near Amissville.
Amissville residents Tammy Roop and Gertie Poling were pleased their pet dog and turtle took first place and second place, respectively, in the pet bikini contest held during the 30th birthday celebration of The Warrenton Shopping Center.
Congratulations to Compton’s Excavating for receiving the judges award during the Flint Hill parade for his four antique cars; he also received first place in the Best Appearing Antique Car category for his 1957 red Chevrolet Bel Air. Amissville Volunteer Fire Department received first place in the Best Appearing Fire Company award.
Dora and Herman Clatterbuck, along with Barbara and Elmer Manual, Andy Manuel, Karen and Scott Butler, Crystal and Carl Scroggins, Larry and Pat Clatterbuck and Chris, Larry Jr. and Michael spent a delightful week at Myrtle Beach.
