Two years ago, my husband and I moved to Rappahannock County. Unsure of what to expect from “country” living, I had one major apprehension: What happens in case of an emergency?
I grew up on an island in New Jersey where the nearest hospital was 20 miles away across the bridge. To this day I feel that if the rescue squad was better equipped - they could have saved my father. Needless to say my biggest fear is not being near a hospital in case of emergency.
