support some favored person’s paintings, photography, poetry or pottery? Why are artists so favored over other Americans?
Finally, regardless of how acutely you agree or disagree with my comments, please do not fall for the NEA’s totally false scare propaganda, which equates denying it tax support with censorship. This is an obvious distortion of censorship, because all people will be free to produce and exhibit art to their liking, but not with your and my tax dollars.
Furthermore, if lack of being subsidized results in censorship, does that not place the New York Times, Rappahannock News and all other unsubsidized newspapers under censorship?
How far from the truth will the NEA go in its efforts to keep its hands in our tax pockets? So let us keep government out of the arts.
