friends demanded that the rescue squad be called — I needed to see a doctor.
Thoughts of my father ran through my mind. At 30 years old, I too was not going to make it to the hospital on time.
Much to my surprise, the rescue squad — both Flint Hill and Washington (not just one but two squads) arrived.
Not only did they arrive quickly, but the equipment that followed them into our house was extensive. I was hooked up to an EKG monitor within minutes and it was reading out my heart beats on a stream of paper. I was impressed!
Today 1 would like to thank the entire communities of Flint Hill and Washington for donations to our rescue squads that allow them to be so equipped.
I would also like to thank Charlotte and Buddy Tummeyer for making my ride a comfortable one and Kenny Pullen for waiting until we reached the stop sign before inserting the IV. You all were fabulous and I appreciate everything you did for me.
We all owe you many, many thanks for your professionalism and your volunteerism.

Letters which in the opinion of the editor are libelous or in poor taste will not be published. Topics addressed should be of general interest to the community.
Letters must reach the editor by noon Tuesday to be considered for publication that week. Letters may be mailed to the Rappahannock News, P.O. Box 59, Washington, Va. 22747, or delivered to the news office on Main Street in Washington.
