Doesn’t a conservative Democrat have to have greater influence in a House of Representatives controlled by Democrats than a conservative ■ Republican? Wouldn’t more of the doors of the Democratic leadership be open to him than to French Slaughter, a conservative Republican?
More importantly, I agree with Mr. Guest that the Democrats in the House are too liberal. That is why we need David Smith’s voice in Washington to help moderate their policies with good Virginian common sense.
I also find it to be interesting that Mr. Guest acknowledges that David is a conservative Democrat while the supporters of French Slaughter are currently decrying him to be a liberal. Now that the Republican Minority Leader of Virginia’s House of Delegates has declared David to be a conservative, I hope French will stop falsely labeling him and start talking the real issues for the campaign.
