'Pirates' at The Theatre
Broadway comes to Gay Street in Washington at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 as the Interact Theatre Co. presents "The Pirates of Penzance" for one performance only in The Theatre at Washington, Va.
The Gilbert and Sullivan opera has been a favorite of American audiences for more than 100 years. It is the story of a young man who is apprenticed by a band of pirates at birth and seeks his freedom and a wife as his apprenticeship ends.
Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors and $5 for children.

luray park needs crafters
Bob Bridges of Washington, Va. is involved in the planning for Luray's proposed Frontier Park, and wants local craftsmen to contact him if they are interested in participating.
The 143-acre facility, located near the Jamesway Shopping Center, would include cabins with crafters and artisans, an outdoor amphitheater, antiques, an RV campground, batting cages and a miniature golf course, according to Helen Bridges, who is also involved in planning the Frontier Park.
A major hotel with as many as 150 rooms is also being planned, according to Mrs. Bridges.
