Johnny Dodson
Johnny Franklin Dodson, 57, of Hill Crest Manor Nursing Home in Winchester, formerly of Berryville, died on Sunday, July 28.
A graveside service was conducted Wednesday, July 31 in Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville by the Rev. Luther Elliott and the Rev. Leroy Luttrell with full military honors provided by the Clarke County Honor Guard.
Mr. Dodson was bom Sept. 8, 1933, in Woodville, the son of the late Lloyd Speilman and Adlee Sisk Dodson. He was a retired postal employee at Berryville and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Berryville Moose Lodge.
Surviving are a daughter, Kelly Lee Armel of Winchester; four sisters, Evelyn Virginia Morrison of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Doris D. Elliott of Clear Brook,. Shirley Nichols of Berryville and Charlotte Snyder of Leesburg; three brothers, “Glen” Glenwood Dodsori of Miami, Fla., William “Bill” Dodson of Berryville and Don Dodson of Winchester; and two grandchildren.
R.G. Weaver Sr.
Mr. Robert Goodloe Weaver Sr., 62, of Boston, died on Tuesday, July 23 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
He was bom in Rappahannock County on Sept. 30, 1928 to the late Chester J. Weaver and Dorothy Brown.
He was a machine operator at the Culpeper Co-op.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Weaver; four sons, Joseph Weaver, Robert Weaver Jr., Thorny Weaver and Greg Weaver, all of Boston; and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Weakley of Front Royal, Melinda Weaver of Rapidan and Cindy Herndon of Culpeper. Mr. Weaver is also survived by a brother, Chester Weaver; and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Beck and Mrs. Betty Burke, all of Boston. Additional survivors include six grandchildren, Tracy Weaver, Andrea Weakley, Janie Weakley, David Allen Nichols Jr., Sean Herndon and Joshua Weaver.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 26 at Found’s Culpeper Funeral Home with Robert Ray, presiding overseer of the Kingdom Hall. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were L.F. Brown, James Jones, Gordon Thornhill, Ebbie Bennett, Jimmy Bennett, Bill Tutwiler and Don Carpenter.
Honorary pallbearers were his nephews, Butch Weaver, Gary Lee Weaver, Mike Weaver, Mitchell Burke, Joey Campbell and Johnny Campbell.
