Willie Spicer
Mrs. Willie Thom Spicer, 95, of Culpeper, died on Thursday, July 25 at Culpeper Health Care Center.
She was bom in Rappahannock County on July 26, 1895.
Her husband was the late Henry B. Spicer.
Survivors include one grandson, William H. Spicer Jr. of Woodbridge; three great-grandsons; and several nieces including Mrs. Frances Nichols of Culpeper.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, July 28 at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Binns officiating.
Clore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Jesse Hawkins
Jesse “Jack” Weaver Hawkins, 66, of Kinsale, Va., formerly of Culpeper, died on Sunday, July 28 at Medical College of Virginia.
Mr. Hawkins was bom July 10, 1925 in Rappahannock County, the son of the late Jesse and Mamie Weaver Hawkins. He was a retired contractor, a member of Culpeper United Methodist Church and he served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was married to the late Jean Taylor Hawkins.
Surviving are a daughter, Wanda H. Tolson of Culpeper; a son, Jeffrey W. Hawkins of Richmond; two grandsons, Jonathan Hawkins and Taylor Bennett; a sister, Josephine Duncan of Boston; and a brother, William L. Hawkins of Alexandria.
Graveside services were held at Fairview Cemetery on Wednesday, July 31 with the Rev. Dan Gregg officiating.

Carrie Stringfellow
Miss Carrie Louise Stringfellow, 64, of Amissville, died on Thursday, July 25 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
A native of Culpeper County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Mamie Spicer Stringfellow.
She is survived by three brothers, Frank Stringfellow of Sperryville, Bernard Stringfellow of Boston and Robert Stringfellow of Amissville; two sisters, Edith Stringfellow and Edna Thomas, both of Amissville; and several nieces and nephews, including Russell Stringfellow of Amissville.
A funeral was held on Sunday, July 28 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper, the Rev. Clyde Woodard officiating, with interment in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
George Cook
George Nelson Cook, 84, of Front Royal, died on Sunday, July 28 in his home.
The funeral was conducted on Wednesday, July 31 at the St. John’s Catholic Church by Father William F. Ruehl. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Cook was bom Feb, 17, 1907, in Sault Sainte Marie, Mich., the son of the late Nelson and Ida J. Sampson Cook.
